About Matt

Counseling is a second career for me. I worked as a corporate executive for 20+ years, but left when that work became unfulfilling. Being a Counselor allows me to focus on the work I find most important: helping others find happiness and fulfillment in their own lives. While I have left my corporate career behind, I maintain a focus on setting and achieving goals which carries into my work with clients.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC), and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) certified by The Licensed Professional Counselor Association of Georgia. My clinical work is rooted in a Adlerian Theory and uses interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused therapy. I have extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing for work with clients who have experienced trauma and Emotionally Focused Therapy for relationship issues.
I have clinical experience in working through concerns resulting from:
-
Life Transitions
-
Anxiety or Depression
-
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
-
Substance Abuse and Addiction
-
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Trauma / Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
-
Sexual orientation or identity issues
-
Career dissatisfaction, ambiguity, and transition
Therapy is a healthy tool to help people live happier lives. If you’re stuck or struggling, I can help you create a plan to move forward toward a happier, more fulfilling life.
